TRACE Image History

Below is a graphical representation of the TRACE image archive. It displays a histogram of the images available at any time. The two sets of bars represent the EUV triad as "stalagmites" rising up from the middle and the whitelight, Lyman Alpha (1216 Angstrom) and the Carbon IV triplet as stalactites hanging down. The length of each bar represents the average frame rate for each (EUV/UV) over the sampling interval. The black horizontal stripes indicate units of 100 images/hour. The color of each bar displays the relative mix of images within the interval as presented in the color wheel. Finally the white dots provides crude pointing information. They show the signed (North/South) distance from disk center with limb observations lying at the top and bottom of the image and disk center observations lying in the center.

There are three levels of detail presented. The first spans six month intervals with each sample spanning six hours, the second spans about one month with hourly samples, and the third spans about a week with ten minute samples.
