The access to the TRACE HK is working pretty well.  The three
main helpful routines are
        xhkplot         - widget program to plot HK data
        quick_hkplot    - plot HK data
        pr_mdihk_trans  - list when a given value has changed
These have been used with MDI for months and work quite nicely.

Recall that you can use DOC_LIBRARY to see the documentation on
the different options for the routines.  The usage is:
        IDL> doc_library,'quick_hkplot

A list of the mnemonics is in the file
        /tsw/dbase/cal/info/xhkplot_mnem.full_lst

Let me know if there are problems or areas for improvement.
