While comparing the TRACE data at EOF and vestige from the last 3 weeks,
I discovered the following differences:


raw_vc2 data:

the files following files are missing on vestige:

location at chippewa:
/disk6/cherokee_backup/disk6/people/dps/raw_vc2/week19980607/19980609_1346_G063_V02.dat1

raw_fits data:

the files following files seem corrupted on EOF (file length too small):
tri19980519.1200

-> week19980712:
the files following files seem corrupted on EOF (file length too small):
tri19980716.2300
tri19980717.0400

-> week19980712:
the files following files seem corrupted on EOF (file length too small):
tri19980724.2000
tri19980725.0600

-> week19980726:
the files following files seem corrupted on EOF (file length too small):
tri19980727.1400
tri19980727.1600
tri19980730.0400
tri19980730.1000

-> week19980802:
the files following files seem corrupted on vestige (file length too small):
tri19980802.0500
tri19980802.1000
tri19980802.1600
tri19980807.0800

the files following files are missing on vestige:
tri19980802.1100
tri19980802.1200
tri19980802.1300
tri19980802.1400

-> reformatted files that are re-transmitted+reformatted later are also
different between EOF and vestige, see on chippewa:
/disk5/cherokee_backup/disk5/raw_fits/tri/week19980802b

-> week19980614:
the files following files seem corrupted on EOF (file length too small):
19980615.1700

-> week19980816:
the files following files are missing on vestige:
tri19980822.2000
tri19980822.2300


these discrepancies seem to happen quite often - basically there are
some differences every week in the raw_fits data, especially when
re-transmitted files come in from the DPS.

what do you recommend to do to resolve the above discrepancies?
