TRACE Memory Load Creation

The following is a description on how to make an incremental load and should be done on cheyenne
You can make frames on any machine that can run traceframe, but everything should be checked in on cheyenne Sequences should have upper case initials, ie TDT.test and frames should have lower case initials, ie tdt.test.
Information on Flight Software and Sequences can be found here
For information on TRACE data compression go here here

  1. Choose existing frames similar to the ones you want, edit them using traceframe, and save with new names (or old names to replace them) in a development directory such as /tsw/obs_dev
*Warning* Never save them into /tsw/obs/frame
  2. Run "checkin -infl newframe.frm" at the command line to "check in" the new frames: this assigns frame ID's and puts them in directory /tsw/obs/frame
  3. If you are making a frame to be used by TDT.anyframes then make a dummy sequence like TDT.dummy3.useq using an editor, using the new frame names in obs_dev
  4. If you made a new sequence run "checkin -infl newsequencename.useq" at the command line to check in the new sequence, putting it into /tsw/obs/seq
  5. Make an incr_MMDDYY.slst file with the name of the new sequence or name of existing sequence, using an editor. See recent examples in /tsw/obs/loads
  6. Run "makeload incr_MMDDYY" at the command line in /tsw/obs/loads to make the .sld and .fld load files and the .ltm instruction file in /tsw/obs/loads
*NOTE* To make a baseload use the -b option. This should only be done if you know what you are doing and the entire team has agreed to do it
  7. Edit the *ltm.## file to put in correct dates & times & other instructions for the FOT, if necessary
  8. Transfer the *ltm.## files to /fotdisk/fot/inputs/memloads (.sld and .fld files are transferred there by makeload) and then send all three files to the FOT using send2fot
*NOTE* If you don't want to send over the dummy sequence, then don't send the .sld file and edit the .ltm file to remove any reference to it
  9. Send an email alerting the FOT to the new load
  10. After the load is done, copy the load files TYYDOYFull.fld and TYYDOYFull.sld to Verified.fld and Verified.sld
*NOTE* If you didn't send the .sld file then don't copy it into the Verified.sld
