TRACE Timeline to do List -------------------------- Before your planning week, please check over the observation requests and make sure any required frames and sequences are on board, if not make and/or load and if so, write and test any applicable utims or even perform a test run on board 1. Check the health of TRACE 2. Check if there are synoptics, other requests that need to be inserted 3. Check the previous day's data espeically if you are going to repeat a run 4. Check solar monitor, SOHO, etc to see if there is anything exciting to observe 5. Set up a tentative plan 6. Email the "plan" to trace_planner to see if anyone has any other science/objections/strong opinions 7. Log into cheyenne 8. cd to /tsw/obs/timeline 9. Open up timeline (timeline at the prompt) 10. Put in your first stop! 11. Put in a pointing and wait 1 minute before starting or giving another command 12. Leave 5 minutes between a stop and start 13. Choose sequences- then wavelengths, times, cadences (remember to check what the default values are and what you want them to be) 14. Run to make sure you aren't killing the memory 15. Insert IAP 16. Check the log file to see if you are really doing what you think you are doing 17. Email out to trace_planner that the plan is up for comments 18. Wait for comments and suggestions 19. Timeline must be submitted before 2pm Goddard time: a.send2fot (sends to TRACE FOT) c.Fill out planner database at http://chippewa.nascom.nasa.gov/dcm/data_base/trace.html 20. If not in eclipse season prep a "pretty picture" of TRACE data from the day before with browser or IDL and send to Karel Useful Tidbits --------------- 195 60 171 switching .... careful the QS is testy 278 is the command limit $g#=global value for REG, (16+#=REG, ie $g2 is REG=18) $l#=local value of REG To see actual pointing see the right most side of memory plot Always check cadence, pointing and wavelength selection E-mail lists to belong to trace_planner trace_announcen trace_fot trace_data Full Mosaics (don't do in radiation regions) UV ~ 45 minutes 284 ~ 2 hours all else ~ hour Synoptics are taken between 00 and 06 UT and must be taken outside of radiation zone Must always consider what the default values are and reset them before using a program if necessary The VAL for the register is the #*256 when in context and just the number in main (Please check the sequence for more detailed information)
